MegaFlea 2011 (Singapore Expo Hall)

Past few weeks have been hectic for Mike and myself. This weekend, we'll be participating in this:

MEGAFLEA
Where: Singapore Expo Hall 5A
24 June 2011 Fri (12noon - 10pm)
25 June 2011 Sat (10am - 10pm)
26 June 2011 Sun (10am - 10pm)

Cartoon Lagoon's booth is located at E12.

Well, in between, we found time to sneak away for a much needed break, just he and I (yes, such bliss!)

Ooooooh, nice, cool weather! How I miss that now that we're home. Sob! My macho man refused to bring a coat cos he said he had me to hug him if he got cold. But I dumped his jacket in the luggage for him anyway.

Strawberry Farm

Wah seh, nowadays, clever.....no need ground to plant them strawberries! Planted like HDB flats too. All stacked up.

Well, back to work and reality for me now and soon, the school term will begin. Wah, sian just thinking about it.

See you at MegaFlea this weekend!

(BTW, my daughter turns 17 this weekend. Whoosh! How time flies! Happy Birthday, my baby!)

Flea Market - Weekend 11th and 12th June 2011

We'll be busy, busy at the following FLEA MARKETS:

TOMORROW!!!
SATURDAY MORNING (11 June 2011):
One World International School
696 Upper Changi Road East Singapore 486826
Official opening hours are 10am to about 1.30pm

SATURDAY EVENING (11 June 2011)
Usual spot at Changi V
5pm -11pm (Hard Court area)

SUNDAY MORNING (12 June 2011)
Elias Commmunity Centre - look for MacDonalds near Elias Mall (Pasir Ris)
From 10am till ??? (it's supposed to be till 6pm but if business isn't that good, we'll pack up before that)

What are we selling?
Well, apart from our usual Cartoon Lagoon Hand Painted shoes, we've also been selling our hand painted signs (quite popular!!!) and country house decor. Our booth looks quite pretty even if I do say so myself!

Mike and I just love sourcing for new items to sell. Seriously speaking, our profit margin is just well.....marginal. After all the trouble we take to source, import or make, we don't make very much from the items. If you've seen similar items being sold at other shops, you'd know, that our mark-up is so, so low compared to theirs. Of course, we understand that they may be housed in shops with high rentals / employee salaries / overheads etc. Likewise, we also have our overheads to cover, albeit not as high as theirs and we do not pay ourselves high salaries. It's pathetic. Much of what we make, we plough back into buying new stock or supplies. Sheesh.

Running a flea market stall week after week can be very tiring but I like that I get to spend time with my husband, first sourcing for the items, then getting them ready to be sold. It's cool that our kids are older and this allows us more time to ourselves as a couple. It's also quite fun to meet different people every week, be it customers or fellow stall holders. There's always something new to learn from new people we meet. Like tomorrow's participation at OWIS, it  was recommended to us by our customer. Sunday's do at Elias was recommended by a fellow Flea Market stall holder. Then there's the MegaFlea do which we'll be taking part in from 24 - 26 June 2011 at the Expo Hall. It was recommended to us by a fellow flea market stall holder too. Such wonderful people! Such fun! See you around!

All this is made possible only by God, taking care and watching over us, blessing us, day after day! Thank you, Lord!

------------------
If you like, you may provide the info to me, I'll help you sign up.
The church did not send me to promote this. By listing the above details, I am in no way acting on behalf of the church. I am doing this because I believe in it.

Don't laugh off this idea completely without giving it a chance.
7 sessions was all it took to change my life. It didn't cost me a cent. The course is conducted by volunteers and it took only time and effort on my part to attend the sessions faithfully and my willingness to listen and open my heart to God. Of course, whenever you try to draw nearer to God, the wiley one starts stalking you and obstacles get thrown your way to sidetrack you. But loads of prayers and love from the group and yourself will see you through it if your heart truly desires it.

The outpouring of the Holy Spirit changed my whole life, I kid you not.
It has changed the way I see things, how I deal with the good and the bad and more importantly, it has changed the way I am now walking with God.

I wish this for you too.

Messages from God

God gave me a message 2 months prior to me getting the confirmation from a human being. I just made this discovery whilst checking my calendar for a work related matter. Same date, 2 months prior. How awesome is that? How awesome is God? He knew I was in for some rough times ahead but He took the time to tell me He loved me anyway. I look back and I know now why it took 2 whole months to be 'confirmed' and I thank Him for it.

This can happen to you too, having God's love I mean. He took a sinner like me and gave me love and spiritual gifts. I pray in tongues and I hear Him. He tells me He loves me all the time. What more could I ask for?

All this because I joined the Life in the Spirit Seminar in 2009. All this because I had opened my heart completely to Him. I had invited Him into my life and He did not let me down. The outpouring of the spirit can happen to you too if you really desire it.

I know that the Life in the Spirit Seminar is starting soon again at the Church of St Vincent de Paul (Catholic church) along Yio Chu Kang Road. Please sign up. If you don't know how to, please contact me. I'll help you get in touch with my friends who are organising it. I won't be a facilitator this year because I have too much on my hands. I hope God understands. I think He does. He's been with me throughout some very tough moments in my life. I've had to make choices and He's shown me that He's with me, loving me no matter what.

We all go up shit's creek sometimes in our lives. There's no denying this. But there's a big, big difference when you have God on your side. He makes all the difference. When you have no one else, you will have God. Open your heart to Him and He will never desert you! God Bless!
